Festive Maroon Smokey Eyes

Uncategorized

Happy New Year!

The festive season means plenty of parties so here is my festive look for the season.

I love anything maroon as it just reminds me of christmas. Its a bold colour that works well for all skin types and can be easily dressed up or down.

I began by priming my eyes with Urban Decay’s primer potion and began by applying the first shade from the Urban Decay’s Naked 3 palette,Strange‘, all over my lids. Using Makeup Revolutions ‘I heart chocolate’ palette, I used the shade ‘What a way to go’ which is a gorgeous maroon colour, in the corner of my eye and crease. I blended this out with a fluffy brush to really create the smokey effect. Using a smaller detail brush I applied the shade ‘Love Torn’, which is a red/brown colour, in my crease and outer V, I then used another fluffy brush to blend this all together.

Using Ted Baker’s gold eyeliner, I lined my bottom lashes to add some sparkle and pop to compliment the festive deep red colours.

I then used Ted Baker’s liquid eyeliner in Black to line my upper lash line into a winged look. I use small strokes to get the perfect and precise detail. Once finished, I curled my lashes and applied my favourite mascara, Max Factor’s max volume and high definition mascara, making sure to get right to the base of my lashes to lengthen them further.

Christmas reindeer

Uncategorized

Ok, so for Christmas Eve my family chose to have a fancy dress night – christmas edition.

So I began looking on youtube for some makeup inspiration. I came across some reindeer makeup tutorials and absolutely fell in love!

To create the cute reindeer look, I began by applying a light foundation all over my face using my Mac stippling brush. Then, using my NYX eyeliner in a matte light brown, I detailed my nose and filled it with a white eyeliner. I also covered my forehead and cheekbones with the same white colour to create a main focal point.

Using my Benefit Hoola bronzer and a large fluffy brush, I covered my cheekbones and my hairline to darken my skin but keeping the focus on the white areas. I applied the same white dots to my cheeks and forehead the created a nose and mouth using my Revlon liquid eyeliner in Black.

My favourite part of this look was the eyes, I kept it quite minimal with light eyeshadow and white eyeliner but added a set of Katy Perry Lashes to emphasises the Bambi like appearance! I added a simple cat eye look with the same liquid eyeliner and finished of the look by adding a set of antlers.

This makeup look was so simple and easy to do and is a great and fun look using makeup that Everyone has in their draws.

Merry Christmas everyone!
Stay tuned for my christmas makeup haul…..
