Makeup through the decades // 1980’s

Happy Sunday everyone!

You know what time it is…

Who isn’t in love with the eighties?

Disco pants, crop tops, big hair, bold colours, lycra….

One of my all time favourite films is 13 going on 30, where the fashion at the beginning was a big inspiration..

Fabuloso…

Alot of makeup in the eighties was bright, bold and beautiful… but hey, Girls just want to have fun right?

You just had to have colourful eyeshadow. That meant wearing blues, purples, and pink eyeshadows…

Bravo to those who wore all three colors on at once…

So lets get started….

Fab-U-lous right?

So looking a bit like a peacock, this look is all about the eyes and cheeks…

I started of with my Bourjois Foundation and applied concealer under my eyes to create a flawless look..

I then used a hot pink blush by MAC mixed with some hot pink eyeshadow by Wet n wild…

..alot of Hot Pink!

The blush was over emphasised so I brought the colour right across my cheek bones..

Again, I chose a lip shade to go alongside my cheeks…

I lined my lips then applied a bright pink Revlon lipstick to match.

As for the eyes, well….

I started off by priming my eyes with my Benefit primer then applied a shimmery white base.

I placed a bright blue shade in the corners and outer corners of my eyes, then applied a lighter aqua colour in the center of my lid. I blended these colours together then used a fluffy brush to apply a hot pink shade to my crease and inner corner.

I lined my lower lash line with a metallic blue eye liner and applied my fave Mascara  – Benefit they’re real..

I finished the look by lightly filling in my brows, my eyeshadow and blush need to be the center of attention!

As for the hair…

Backcomb baby!

The bigger the better!

And the look is complete! What do you all think of my electric eighties look? I had so much fun creating this for you guys.

I think I did Cindy Lauper proud…

Makeup through the decades // 1950’s – 1960’s

Uncategorized

Who else is tucked up under a blanket with a hot chocolate

The weather is so terrible today, I just feel like hibernating! If your like me who just wants to cuddle up and have a good read, then keep reading..

Continuing with my makeup through the decades series, today is all about the 50s and 60s!

So, have a look and get inspired to create your own series with me!

Here goes…

1950’s

I love the pin- up style

Its the essential 1950’s look and its so glamorous and looks great on anyone!

Sticking with that red lip again ( it has been a constant in the fashions so far), I exaggerated my cupids bow, making it appear more pointed and defined. My eyebrows are dark and perfectly shaped matching the more angled design of the lips.

I love the eye makeup.

Who doesn’t love a cat eye?

By extending the eyeline into a cat eye, it emphasises my lashes and looks so feminine!

Obviously the bandana in the hair is a must, really making that pin-up style appearance.

1960s

So something a little different…

Goodbye red lipstick, hello nude lipstick.

Think Twiggy for the 1960s.. Her staple look was pale lips and drawn on eyelashes.

You can see here how I have drawn on my bottom eyelashes which is what was ideal in the sixties.. The skin was still flawless but all the focus was placed on the eyes.

Using a dark eyeshadow, the fashion was to emphasise the crease making your eyes appear larger and more beautiful!

Again, the eyebrows are just as important as they frame those big eyes!

So we have definitely began to change drastically in style now, I cannot wait for the vibrant colour of the 1970s and 1980s!
What do you guys think? Which decades has been your fave so far?

Review: LUSH BBseaweed face mask

Uncategorized

Good evening my lovelies!

After a long day on my feet in work, I’ve come home for a good relax with a hot bath and a cup of tea. Heaven.

When I do have a hot bubble bath, I love nothing more than soaking in the bubbles and having that time to just gather my thoughts.

I’ve love a good face mask.  I suffer from extremely dry skin so I try to choose a hydrating and nourishing mask that will leave my skin smooth and well hydrated.

This is where LUSH comes in…

I have found my saviour – the BBseaweed face mask.

Bursting with seaweed, almonds, rose and aloe vera- this mask feels and smells beautiful. The aloe vera soothes and calms any red areas of skin whilst the calming rose and almonds make my face beautifully silky.

It also has Rosemary oils and kaolin to remove any excess oil and dirt on the skin to banish that left over work makeup!!

Another bonus to this product is that a little bit really does go a long way. Taking about a ten pence piece size amount, add a few drops of water to make a paste and apply all over the skin. – simple as that.

I picked up my tub for about £6.50, all natural and organic.

Looks like porridge, works like a dream!

What are your favourite LUSH products?

Speak to you soon beauties,

Love C
