It is February and freezing, so i’m sat in my pyjamas – slippers on – cup of tea in hand – fire crackling – i’m happy.

I don’t know about you guys but Instagram is my favourite social media platform – I can literally spend forever scrolling through pictures of home decor, makeup and food and before you know it it’s been an hour…. or two..

Just Kidding… but not really.

So for those who may not have the joys of Instagram or haven’t hit that follow button yet, here are some of my latest posts of what i’ve been up to from now and through January.

16522631_10155731364504179_9130287_n

So this was at 8:30 am at Penarth Pier. I was on my way to work and it looked so beautiful, the sunrise made everything look so pretty. Im lucky to live near the sea and the countryside so i’m always snapping the world’s natural beauty.

16650086_10155731364494179_1028985109_n.jpg

On this evening, I spent 3 lovely hours catching up with blog posts, comments and social media. As well as have a cheeky glass of wine or two. I tell you what, this arm chair from ikea is so comfortable and is so cosy to cuddle up on.

16559093_10155731364499179_37122727_n

This Milani blush is the perfect colour for me. As I am naturally paler toned, this adds just the right amount of warmth to my skin. Alongside my Ted Baker lipstick this peachy pair is perfect for me.

16650344_10155731364489179_1279220758_n.jpg

Does this need a caption? I love bubbles! This was probably the most bubbly bath I have ever had.

16650344_10155731364529179_1510106530_n

I was super excited to get my hands on the Sweet Peach palette. The colours are so pigmented and they smell gorgeous. If you want to check out my swatch video and blog post then click HERE.

16559139_10155731364534179_529120446_n

For those who are not familiar with Hygge, then I strongly recommend reading this lovely little book. Hygge basically means enjoying the little things in life like candles, cosy cushions, a cup of tea or in my case a hot bath with a glass of wine…

 16652065_10155731364654179_545106084_n

A table for two. This dinner set caught my eye and was a real bargain. It was from Asda and was only £14 for a 16 piece set. My flowers are also from Asda and I got them for £5 – another bargain. Not to mention my rose gold wine glasses from one of my best friends – Heaven.

16558818_10155731364649179_808967807_n

Shadeliers are IN at the moment. Not quite lamp shade not quite chandelier, these pretty things are from Next and add such an elegant feel to the house. I’ve got a matching one in the living room too..

16559140_10155731364644179_1825879910_n

These are actually the pjs i’m wearing right now. They are from Boux Avenue and are so cosy and warm for these winter months. Plus i’ve got grey nails in this photo and I was pleasantly surprised how nice they looked.

16559386_10155731364619179_405634264_n

Im so in love with this shirt from Primark. When I saw it on the mannequin I knew I just had to buy it. It has this cute bow tie on the front and looks great with jeans and heels. #Stripesforlife

16558556_10155731364579179_337728379_n

Anything marble, im there. This notebook was £3 from Primark and is great to keep in my handbag for those essential notes.

16559334_10155731364569179_1231231819_n

Ive been doing a lot of DIY projects lately and this rose bouquet is one of them. I used a candle holder as the vase and arranged the flowers inside. We also had some slate tiles left over so I made a decorative plate for the table. – Quite proud of myself.

16559351_10155731364574179_1789433588_n

Ive been after this Too Faced foundation for such a long time, and after hearing such good reviews, I couldn’t wait to try it myself. The formula is so creamy and dries instantly on the skin. It says medium to full coverage but you can definitely build it up on the skin.

16650496_10155731364584179_1933068920_n

I visited my local flower craft shop to browse silk flowers and was overwhelmed with how many there were. Im making my wedding centrepieces myself so getting inspo from here was perfect.

16559200_10155731364549179_617419908_n

So this stunning building is where im going to get married. We have set a date of 9th September 2018 and we viewed the building a few weeks ago. It has 8-10 chandeliers hanging from the ceiling with carved wooden walls. It was truly breathtaking and we fell in love with the place as soon as we walked in.

16521724_10155731364544179_696403262_n

Last night I wasn’t feeling 100% – full up with a cold. So what better way to spend the evening than with candles galore. It was so relaxing and I felt so much better after letting my body rest and recover.

Gosh thats a lot of photos.

Well as I mentioned guys, Instagram is my fave.

I hope you have enjoyed seeing what I have been up to lately and I would love to see what you guys have been loving too, so send me your links!

January Beauty Wish-list!

Uncategorized

bistro-bar-san-francisco

img_1053-4

Its that time of year where Christmas has just been and bank accounts are running low so why on earth would I be thinking of shopping right now?…

Umm…

Because payday is in 3 days thats why.

I wanted to create my January beauty wishlist as there are so many things that I have got my eye on at the moment and I can’t wait to get my hands on them.

Fancy a look what’s inside my shopping cart?

Makeup Revolution Retro Luxe Lip Kit

As soon as I heard Makeup Revolution were releasing lip kits, not going to lie, I did scream a little. Im a big fan of their lip products and am in desperate need for the whole collection. Unfortunately they did sell out pretty fast and im not surprised as the colour ranges are stunning.

Who needs a Kylie Lip Kit when you’ve got this huh?

Find them HERE.

Anastasia Beverley Hills Brow Pomade

Eyebrows shape the face and are an important part of my beauty routine. I have seen so many people use this bad boy and get stunning brows effortlessly. Again, the colour ranges are amazing as my brows are quite light in colour naturally. Its formula is also waterproof which means these brows are not budging all day.

At £18 I think its a good price as these pots really do last a long time.

Find them HERE.

MAC Lipstick – Mariah Carey

Image result for mariah carey lipstick

Do I need to add any words to this?

Look at the packaging! It is stunning. If Mariah was a lipstick, this would actually be her! – Sparkly and Magnificent!

The only downfall is the range in colours, there are not too many but HEY! Its a small collection which is crafted to perfection.

Find them HERE.

Clinique 3-step Moisturising gel

Image result for clinique moisturising gel

My skin could do with a break from this winter.

I have heard magical things about this and am in desperate need for some soft and hydrated skin. This gel is super hydrating which is just what I need after this cold spell were having, and it leaves the face feeling smooth and soft.

It is a bit more than I would like to pay for a moisturiser but if its true what they say – I’ll see a dramatic difference.

Find them HERE.

Essie Cashmere Matte Nail Polish

cashmere matte - effects by essie

Im all about matte right now and when I saw a cashmere MATTE polish, I knew I had to get it.

The collection is very natural to reflect cashmere elegance but thats fine with me as I LOVE neutral nails.

It is also supposed to have a pearl reflectiveness to it which I think will add a bit of extra glam to the fingertips.

Find them HERE.

And that is it guys.

Not too many items on my list, we’ve got to be reasonable now.

Do you guys have any products your hoping to buy on your wishlist? I would love to know!

Let me know yours in the comments!

Our House Tour

Uncategorized

img_1053-4

So as you guys know, we have recently bought our first home.

Now that we have settled in, we have really started to put our own personal touches into the building.

To give you a bit of history, our lovely cottage was built in 1850 and has such a homely feel to the place. It has old farm doors and an enclosed staircase with views overlooking the farm and fields. The cottages used to be owned by railway workers in the 1900’s (I live very close to a train station)  and in our garden we have gorgeous flowerbeds made from old railway sleepers.

I really enjoy interior design and home decor, so I can’t wait to show you our developments so far.

Ready for the grand tour?

 The Hallway

SAMSUNG CAMERA PICTURES

The first thing you see as you enter our house is our hallway. I’ve always wanted one as it gives a bit of privacy instead of walking straight into the living room. The colour scheme is a neutral green and cream so we added  a neutral beige rug to lengthen the space. I LOVE our little shelf which is handy to put keys etc. The mirror is perfect for makeup touch ups just before I head out the door.

Rug: Ikea: £30

Flowers: Asda: £5

Mirror: From previous owner

The Dining Room

SAMSUNG CAMERA PICTURES

From the hallway, it opens up to our Dining Room. We completely refurbished this space as the colour scheme wasn’t quite what we wanted. I love how open and spacious it feels with the alcoves giving that cosy feel. Our feature wall is in the shade ‘Meteor Dust’ and goes perfectly with our sideboard and dining table. We have two lamps in each alcove which really creates a cosy vibe.

Table and Chairs: Ikea: £150

Sideboard: Tesco: £300

Lamps: Ikea: £16 each

The Living Room

SAMSUNG CAMERA PICTURES

Our living room is the perfect size. We had some real bargains in here. Its colour theme is a neutral beige and white with hints of blue and grey. We have a beautiful winged armchair in the corner which is great for snuggling up by the fire. You can see out to our front garden where we have an old stone wall and gate.

SAMSUNG CAMERA PICTURES

Our fireplace is in the centre which creates a really cosy ambience along with the lights in the alcoves. I have added candles on the mantelpiece and marble fire surround because im a candle fanatic.

Coffee Table: Costco: £70

Winged Armchair: £179

Tv Stand: Ikea: £85

Sofa: Free

Curtains: Tesco: £15

The Kitchen

SAMSUNG CAMERA PICTURES

From the living room we enter the kitchen. It has slate floor and cream tile walls. We haven’t had to do anything to the kitchen which was really good. When we bought the house, on of the things that attracted me was the kitchen as its such a good size. It has wooden work tops which add to the country feel and a step which lead to our sink and view across the garden.

I have always wanted one of these taps. It makes washing up so much easier! I love the view across our garden and our aloe vera plant enjoys the views too.

We added hints of copper to the kitchen to add warmth and I HAD to get these pots from Next as soon as I saw them.

SAMSUNG CAMERA PICTURES

We had a new oven fitted and kept the original hob. I have to say there is so much storage im struggling to fill all the cupboards and drawers.

I believe the kitchen is the heart of the home and I love cooking in this space. It has such a warm and homely feel to it already.

Fridge:Russell Hobbs: £669

Oven: Currys: £170

Dishwasher: Already there

Clock: Dunelm: £25

Fruit bowl: Home Bargains: £2.99

Coffee Pots: Next: £18

The Stairway

SAMSUNG CAMERA PICTURES

I love enclosed stairs.

There is something really nice just walking up the wooden staircase to bed – I dont know what it is! Its enclosed with an old wooden farm door which adds to our cottage style and vibes.

The Bedroom

SAMSUNG CAMERA PICTURES

We went for an all white theme for the Bedroom as it would be easy to change up accent colours to fit with the time of year. At the moment with Christmas and winter, we went with a warm red and grey. We have all fitted wardrobes which have TONS of room – Thankfully!

SAMSUNG CAMERA PICTURES

Its nice not to have too much clutter in the room and have a nice space to breathe. The white walls give the space a brightness and compliment my bed frame well.

SAMSUNG CAMERA PICTURES

Ofcourse I had to have a space of my own. This little corner of the room was destined to be vanity area. Its so cute and I love being able to sit down in the morning and get ready.

Bed Frame: Ikea: £99

Duvet set: Tesco: £15

Chair: Ikea: £11

Mirror: Ikea: £12

Second and Third Bedrooms

SAMSUNG CAMERA PICTURES

SAMSUNG CAMERA PICTURES

At the moment, were using the second and third bedrooms as a study area and gaming room for Jamie and blogging area for me. We haven’t made any alterations to the colours as of yet, but im not keen on the yellow walls of the study… BUT its perfectly decent for now!

The Third floor/ Attic

SAMSUNG CAMERA PICTURESSAMSUNG CAMERA PICTURES

Behind the wooden door lies a second stair case leading to a third floor. Jamie has already claimed this as his man cave and im all for it! It will be a space for gaming, relaxing and movie night with popcorn. PLUS is has great views from the skylight across the fields and beyond.

And that, is our home!

I hope you guys have enjoyed looking around our new place, and I cant wait to keep you updated with all the decorating and plans.

I would love to know what you guys think and if you have any ideas let me know!

I would also LOVE to see your decor posts too so send me your links!

2016 Top 5- Highlighters

Uncategorized

img_1053-4

It’s New Years Eve, almost another year over..

and what better way to end the year, with a touch of sparkle right?

Anyone who knows me, knows that I am obsessed with highlighter. (or anything sparkly or shiny…)

Over the past few years as they have become more and more popular, I have tested my fair share and have developed my favourite collection from 2016.

From liquid, to cream to powder styles, I’ve tried them all and have narrowed it down to my all time faves.

Benefit High Beam

SAMSUNG CAMERA PICTURES

I think im not the only one to say that this little thing packs a glittery punch. I was always a bit sceptical of liquid highlighters as most that I have tried always brought my foundation off with them and produced little or no highlight.

SAMSUNG CAMERA PICTURES

This however, is perfect. Its a very soft pink cream shade with a super reflected glow. Its very natural and gives a healthy look to my skin without me looking like a piece of tin foil. A little really does go a long way and I find that using my fingers to blend in to the skin works the best for me.

You can purchase this at most drug stores or from Benefit for about £19.50, A bit on the pricey end of things but it truly lasts forever.

Goddess of Love by IHEARTMAKEUP

SAMSUNG CAMERA PICTURES

I have had this for a year now and it is still going strong. This powder highlights is beautiful, and so is the packaging right?

Its a very light weight and fine pressed powder that does no get cakey with wear. It has a strong reflective glow to it, a bit more iridescent than High Beam.

SAMSUNG CAMERA PICTURES

The colour is a pearly white and this swatch is just after one sweep so its super pigmented. With this highlighter I use a fan brush as it picks up a lot product and gently dusts over the skin. You can really build this product up as well so you can have a subtle everyday look too. You can find it in your local Superdrug or online, but its a bargain as well at £4.99, this bad boy is a steal.

Revlon Photoready Instafix Highlighting Stick

SAMSUNG CAMERA PICTURES

On to cream highlighters with the Revlon highlighting stick, this product glides on to the skin effortlessly. It is quite handy to throw in my handbag for on the go shimmer and super easy to blend with my fingers.

SAMSUNG CAMERA PICTURES

The colour is darker than the previous products and works amazing with a tan for that summer glow. The shade I have is called Starlight and as you can see, very pigmented so again, a little goes a long way.

Its £9.99 for this product which is a bit much for it in my opinion but again, im sure it will last quite a while, especially in summer.

Makeup Obsession customised palette

SAMSUNG CAMERA PICTURES

How stunning is does this look.

This personalised palette from Makeup Obsession was from my sister for my birthday and she has filled it with my favourite shades and colours. The highlight in here is on the top right hand corner and is a cream balm.

SAMSUNG CAMERA PICTURES

Ive got the shade Gilded, which a a bright pearl white. It is really creamy and thick so it does need blending quite well. I find that the warmth from my finger tips does the job well but it creates the most beautiful shimmer and fresh dewy look.

The individual pan was £3.00 from Boots and fits in to any Makeup Obsession palette.

Makeup Revolution Radiance palette

SAMSUNG CAMERA PICTURES

An oldy but a goody.

This palette is great for everyday wear with my favourite shade being the middle one. Its lighter than the other two which is perfect from my skin tone. It does need to be built up to really get the lovely pigment but when it is on its divine.

SAMSUNG CAMERA PICTURES

This provides a natural fresh skin look without the weight of a heavy feeling product. I use a fan brush to apply this as I have much more control over the powder. The mirror is really good as its larger than most too.

From Makeup Revolution its a bargain for £8.

And that is my Top 5 for 2016. If I had to name a favourite, I think it would be Benefit High Beam but I wear all of these shown.

I would love to know any other recommendations from you guys or share your favourites with me in the comments!

Enjoy the rest of the holidays and I hope you all have a

Happy New Year!

Top 5 Christmas Movies.

Uncategorized

img_1053-4

I love nothing more than getting cosy with a hot chocolate and bowl of popcorn watching my fave Christmas films.

When people ask me what the best festive film is, I always struggle because I love so many of them…

BUT..

I have actually managed to create my top 5 festive films for you guys (after much thought)… So if your stuck for Christmas inspiration, I highly recommend this lovely lot…

main

National Lampoons Christmas Vacation

The Favourite.

I can watch this film over and over and over again and not get bored. If you love Chevy Chase then this is the film for you. It is so funny and i’m pretty sure all families can relate to the antics of the run up to Christmas…

1975_2

Home Alone: Lost in New York

Out of all the Home Alone movies, this is my fave.

There is something so magical about New York at Christmas and I know i’m not the only one when I say how much I wanted to stay at the Plaza Hotel..

Again, I could watch it over and over and Harry and Marv absolutely make this film, such great actors.

christmas-with-the-kranks

Christmas with the Kranks

Who doesn’t like Tim Allen?

I can really relate to this film as my mother loves Christmas festivities as much as Jamie Lee Curtis and will do EVERYTHING to try and make it perfect on the day… despite any accidents along the way.

picture-of-tim-allen-and-eric-lloyd-in-the-santa-clause-large-picture

The Santa Clause

Another one with my guy Tim Allen, they really don’t make films like this anymore…

I thought the sets and props in this film were so incredible (again I wanted to live in the North Pole)…

If your looking for a truly magical movie, then this is my pick, it really puts me in the festive mood.

landscape-1450788637-the-holiday

The Holiday

Lastly, a romantic choice.

This is such a relaxing film and shows how Christmas is full of love and joy.

And how cool would it be to actually house swap with someone? Ummm…. VERY COOL, sign me up.

christmas-bow-with-holly-md

Well loves, that is my TOP 5 Christmas picks for you.

I would love to know your selections for this festive time too so let me know in the comments – I would love to hear!
