What’s the latest on my Instagram? | Beautyandshe

Beauty

well hello

Today I have worked wonders..

I’ve been to the gym, cleaned the kitchen, living room and bathroom, sorted out 2 HUGE piles of donations for the charity shop and prepped tonight’s dinner.

So I have just this second sat down with a cup of tea.

I have been loving Instagram at the moment and I have loved looking at all sorts of inspiration for the New Year.

I thought I would share a few of my latest Instagram posts for you to see what I have been up to lately.

If you don’t follow me already, make sure you check out my Instagram where you will find me posting all sorts everyday.

My latest IG post included this absolutely gorgeous lip topper from Makeup Revolution in the shade “Luxurious”. It is the prettiest shimmery gold colour and just glides on to the lips. It is not sticky at all and doesn’t make my lipstick underneath slide everywhere. It comes in a few different shades but this one was my favourite. I picked mine up from Superdrug and the best part is that it was only £2. It is supposed to be a dupe for the Fenty Diamond lipgloss, so if it saves me money too, even better.

Check it out HERE.

This was my OOTD for a girly day shopping last Sunday. This duck egg blue coat was from M&S a few years ago. It is so thick and warm and looks super classy. I paired it with a white knit jumper, jeans and chelsea boots.

I had so much fun creating this photo. This was taken at one of my new fave coffee places in Cardiff – Big Moose Coffee Co. They have these giant angel wings painted on the wall outside and ofcourse I had to take a picture by it. Reckon I could be a Victoria’s Secret Angel then?

If you haven’t tried their coffee and brunch then I highly recommend popping in for a visit. If you read my previous post about resolutions, this was on my list to visit. The company does so much charity work which is incredible and it supports the local community. Food wise, I had the banana, coconut and pecan french toast – possibly the best french toast I have eaten.

Check out their Instagram HERE.

So me and my husband had our date night recently and we paid a visit to another one of our favourite bars in Cardiff – Head of Steam. We love the vibe in here, its so relaxed and welcoming and they have great decor. As you can see, one of the best drinks they do is a “Steamy Martini” which comes with a shot of prosecco. My kind of drink.

I posted a review previously of this place as we were kindly invited to attend their opening event. It definitely left a good impression with us – we will be returning frequently I think..

This was my bargain of the year (I know its only January)

So I was wandering around Superdrug minding my own business when something caught my eye. I saw a huge collection of random makeup all priced at £2. I couldn’t believe my eyes that all of this makeup from The Balm was reduced so heavily! I couldn’t resist. Usually the Balm Shelter tinted moisturiser retails at about £10 alone – and I got it for two quid.

Did you guys see these reductions in your local Superdrug? What do you think?

Well that’s you all caught up with me and what I’ve been doing. I would love for you guys to leave your IG links in the comments so I can see what your up to.

Autumn Favourites: My top 5 autumnal activities 2018

Uncategorized

img_1053-4

Autumn is one of my favourite times of year. I love the weather, I love the colours and ofcourse I love all of the autumnal fashions and styles.

This year I have felt much more autumnal that usual and I love it. I have learnt to appreciate the little things like the colours of leaves the trees or enjoying a cup of tea reading a good book. Its those little things that I have adored this year so far.

I wanted to share my top 5 autumnal activities so you too could get in to the seasonal spirit.

  1. Venture Outside

The world is a beautiful place and it’s a shame to waste this beautiful season indoors. I love to go for walks at every opportunity and just looks at the different colours autumn provides. The landscape changes so much with the seasons and it is so interesting to watch it change. I recently went to my local welsh heritage centre St Fagans where they have lots of old historical buildings set within farming space. They also have a castle and ground which was stunning this time of year. And the best part…..Its completely free! Click Here to check it out.

2. Enjoy a good food and good drink – Try something new.

If you havent already seen my previous blog post, I tried out a new craft beer pub locally to me which was incredible. Head of Steam has fantastic array of drinks and food options set in a cosy warm environment that make it hard to leave. I love nothing more than hearty food this time of year and it certainly didnt disappoint. Check our my post HERE.

3.  Enjoy a cup of tea and a good book

This is a good one. I love nothing more than snuggling under a blanket, book in hand and a cup of tea (my fave drink next to wine). I have been reading The ruby in the smoke by Phillip Pullman and it is amazing – It is definitely hard to put down. I have also been loving reading blog posts to get some early christmas ideas and fashions of the season. Send me the link to your favourite bloggers, I would love to know!

4.  Go shopping for the season

You all know I love Primark. They are killing it with their autumn wear at the moment. I have recently bought a few key pieces for the season including some orange knitwear, slipper socks and a fluffy jacket. I have also bought some knee high brown boots that are possibly the best things since sliced bread. Check out my last Primark haul Here.

5. Get creative

Since the beginning of September, my house has been filled with pumpkins and candles and blankets you name it…. I love making my house as cosy as possible in the autumn, it creates such a relaxing atmosphere that is no nice to cuddle up in when its dark outside.  Even just a few more cushions or blankets really makes a difference. My favourite candle at the moment is the Yankee Candle – Red apple wreath. It has such a sweet scent with musky undertones that create the cosiest autumny vibe. What is your favourite scent this autumn?

There is plenty more for sure but these have to be my top 5. I would love to know what your favourite activities are in the autumn and let me know of any recommendations in the comments below.

Head of Steam Cardiff: The NEWEST craft beer pub in the city

Uncategorized

img_1053-4

So there may be a couple of things you don’t know about me…

Ofcourse you know I love shopping and makeup and fashion… I also LOVE food.

I’m a real foodie at heart, and I love exploring new and upcoming restaurants and businesses.

I was invited to attend the opening of the NEW craft beer pub Head of Steam in Cardiff and I jumped at the chance of being able to review new food and an array of drinks! I was able to bring my husband which was so lovely as I was able to share my blogging experiences with him for the first time.

So on Monday 29th October, we took our short Uber ride into town (Cardiff) and made our way to the venue. Head of Steam is a really modern venue yet very cosy and inviting at the same time.

As soon as we walked in we were greeted by the staff who welcomed us in and showed us to the bar. As this was opening night, we were lucky enough to be able to try everything complimentary so we couldn’t wait to try all the interesting options!

I decided to try one of my all time faves first – a classic Gin and Tonic. It was divine. The choice of gin available was amazing, I opted for a fruity raspberry gin which was very refreshing and was great to drink whilst browsing the menu.

After that I fancied a cocktail – another love of my life. I asked the bar staff what they would recommend and they were so knowledgeable about all the different drinks they provide. I was recommended to try the Steamy Martini which comes with a shot of prosecco!

Honestly, it was probably one of the best cocktails I have ever tried. It had such a gorgeous passionfruit flavour – very easy to drink – followed by my prosecco shot. Plus how stunning does it look!

The decor is fantastic and I kept finding new things to look at at every turn of the head, They have a wall full of neon lights/ advertisements and old posters which really gave me biker chic vibes – I LOVE IT!

For our food, we were spoilt for choice. Since we were in a craft beer pub we decided to go for one of the recommended choices – The Besler.

Check out the rest of their menu and prices HERE.

It consists of 3 tapas style tasters alongside their paired matching beers. This was right up our street and we took our time choosing our options.

When the food arrived I was shocked at the amount we received. Usually when I have tapas its typically very small plates that don’t really fill you up. This however was an exception!

I chose:

King prawn tortilla which paired with PILSNER.

Chicken Skewers which paired with ENGLISH GOLDEN ALE.

Red Pepper Houmous with garlic and coriander naan which paired with BELGIAN BLONDE ALE.

As a complete novice of ales, it was so good to try such a selection and see how well they paired with the different foods. I highly recommend this dish as it gives you such a wide selection of everything they provide.

45782269_2169626936427721_4651631215734947840_n

It felt completely relaxed and so cosy the whole time we were there and it felt like such a good socialising venue. The music selection was great and was not too loud which is one of my pet peeves – I hate not being able to talk to the person next to me so this was perfect.

If your in Cardiff, I highly advise you try this new delightfully delicious venue. Good food, Amazing drinks and cosy atmosphere.
