2016 Top 5- Highlighters

Uncategorized

img_1053-4

It’s New Years Eve, almost another year over..

and what better way to end the year, with a touch of sparkle right?

Anyone who knows me, knows that I am obsessed with highlighter. (or anything sparkly or shiny…)

Over the past few years as they have become more and more popular, I have tested my fair share and have developed my favourite collection from 2016.

From liquid, to cream to powder styles, I’ve tried them all and have narrowed it down to my all time faves.

Benefit High Beam

SAMSUNG CAMERA PICTURES

I think im not the only one to say that this little thing packs a glittery punch. I was always a bit sceptical of liquid highlighters as most that I have tried always brought my foundation off with them and produced little or no highlight.

SAMSUNG CAMERA PICTURES

This however, is perfect. Its a very soft pink cream shade with a super reflected glow. Its very natural and gives a healthy look to my skin without me looking like a piece of tin foil. A little really does go a long way and I find that using my fingers to blend in to the skin works the best for me.

You can purchase this at most drug stores or from Benefit for about £19.50, A bit on the pricey end of things but it truly lasts forever.

Goddess of Love by IHEARTMAKEUP

SAMSUNG CAMERA PICTURES

I have had this for a year now and it is still going strong. This powder highlights is beautiful, and so is the packaging right?

Its a very light weight and fine pressed powder that does no get cakey with wear. It has a strong reflective glow to it, a bit more iridescent than High Beam.

SAMSUNG CAMERA PICTURES

The colour is a pearly white and this swatch is just after one sweep so its super pigmented. With this highlighter I use a fan brush as it picks up a lot product and gently dusts over the skin. You can really build this product up as well so you can have a subtle everyday look too. You can find it in your local Superdrug or online, but its a bargain as well at £4.99, this bad boy is a steal.

Revlon Photoready Instafix Highlighting Stick

SAMSUNG CAMERA PICTURES

On to cream highlighters with the Revlon highlighting stick, this product glides on to the skin effortlessly. It is quite handy to throw in my handbag for on the go shimmer and super easy to blend with my fingers.

SAMSUNG CAMERA PICTURES

The colour is darker than the previous products and works amazing with a tan for that summer glow. The shade I have is called Starlight and as you can see, very pigmented so again, a little goes a long way.

Its £9.99 for this product which is a bit much for it in my opinion but again, im sure it will last quite a while, especially in summer.

Makeup Obsession customised palette

SAMSUNG CAMERA PICTURES

How stunning is does this look.

This personalised palette from Makeup Obsession was from my sister for my birthday and she has filled it with my favourite shades and colours. The highlight in here is on the top right hand corner and is a cream balm.

SAMSUNG CAMERA PICTURES

Ive got the shade Gilded, which a a bright pearl white. It is really creamy and thick so it does need blending quite well. I find that the warmth from my finger tips does the job well but it creates the most beautiful shimmer and fresh dewy look.

The individual pan was £3.00 from Boots and fits in to any Makeup Obsession palette.

Makeup Revolution Radiance palette

SAMSUNG CAMERA PICTURES

An oldy but a goody.

This palette is great for everyday wear with my favourite shade being the middle one. Its lighter than the other two which is perfect from my skin tone. It does need to be built up to really get the lovely pigment but when it is on its divine.

SAMSUNG CAMERA PICTURES

This provides a natural fresh skin look without the weight of a heavy feeling product. I use a fan brush to apply this as I have much more control over the powder. The mirror is really good as its larger than most too.

From Makeup Revolution its a bargain for £8.

And that is my Top 5 for 2016. If I had to name a favourite, I think it would be Benefit High Beam but I wear all of these shown.

I would love to know any other recommendations from you guys or share your favourites with me in the comments!

Enjoy the rest of the holidays and I hope you all have a

Happy New Year!

I have been loving changing up my lip colours lately.

A pop of colour can create such a difference to any outfit or makeup look and is so quick and easy to create.

Today I wanted to share my favourite lip shade that I am always reaching for in my makeup bag, time and time again.

SAM_11269

Loreal Paris: Juliannes Nude – £6.99

This lipstick is my ultimate favourite pink shade. I’ve mentioned it in many blog posts before and there is clear reason why..

The formula is super creamy and rich with a scent just like parma violets..yum! I feel as though it instantly moisturises my lips when applied.

As for the colour, its a very delicate soft shade so very wearable for everyday, it has quite cool undertones so works really well with my skin tone.

There are so many shades in the collection so head on over to your local boots to get your hands on them! I highly recommend.

Who doesn’t love hot pink?

This Ted Baker Lip gloss has to be the most pigmented lip product I own. A little bit goes a long way, but once applied looks flawless.

SAMSUNG CAMERA PICTURES

I wear this shade with a very simple makeup look to add a splash of brightness to my everyday style. Again, this colour will look great with a lot of skin shades.

Happy Sunday everyone!

I have a well deserved day off today so I thought it would be a good opportunity to catch up with you dolls!

I have been feeling very creative lately and I am SO looking forward to this autumn season.

So last week I shared with you my Halloween Horror Skull Tutorial, which I absolutely loved creating. This week is something a bit easier using some gorgeous colours and….

Glitter.

Yes. Glitter.

I’m pretty sure that every girl has wondered what it would be like to be a mermaid..

I know I have. I just love the beachy hair and bright and beautiful colours!

So this is my take on the Mystical Mermaid look.

For the full tutorial of how I created this magical look, check out the link above!11997159_10154030751589179_239807065_n

Who knew a pair of tights could create such a beautiful pattern right?

11999925_10154030751874179_758768752_n

In a lot of films, the mermaids you see usually have gorgeously glistening flawless skin, so to create this, I added some pink glitter to my cheekbones, brow bone and forehead.

12021979_10154030749884179_1516819988_n

To finish the look, add some eyelashes and give your hair those beachy waves!

This look is super easy to do and quick to create for a last minute idea!

Can you believe it’s September already?

I absolutely love Autumn…When the mornings and evenings are dark and you can cuddle up in front of the fire with tea and biscuits.

It is Beautiful.

Today’s post is all about some more beautiful bits and pieces that I was recently sent to review.

I dont know about you guys, but Ive always liked the thought of getting a tattoo, but have never had the courage to go and get one.

Particularly for my work as well, I just don’t think now would be the right time for some real ink.

HOWEVER..

That doesn’t mean I can’t have a little fun once in a while.

So I have been lucky enough to be sent some Watercolour Tattoos by Glim Glam.

Can I just say how unique and beautiful they are.

There are so many to choose from ranging from glitter ones to metallic and to watercolour. And since its festival season here in the UK, and these would be AMAZING for such colourful events.

I was sent the Watercolour “Freespirit” tattoos and I think im in love. They are handpainted little pieces of joy that you can wear and get into that festival fever spirit.

Check out the range HERE.

11994212_10153999631769179_111184450_n

So Ive chosen a few of my faves and applied them to the areas where maybe just one day I will get a real one (shoulder, wrist, foot) … but for now, these are unbelievably brilliant.

11997899_10153999631619179_1265052051_n

This is the first one I applied and probably my favourite. I am in love with Calligraphy like this, and thought it would look so “Beautiful” when wearing flip-flops or sandals.

11997045_10153999632549179_2116259321_n

P.s who loves my nail polish? I thought it was super summery and bright to match this gorgeous weather were having at the mo.

11992377_10153999632094179_1396883990_n

Im a big lover of Mindfulness, yoga and relaxation so I thought that this “Breathe” quote was extremely suitable. It fits so nicely on my wrist and can be easily covered up when needed to.

Again, I love the font style as though it has quickly been painted with a brush..

11995428_10153999632319179_870787503_n 11998281_10153999632269179_647844447_n

11994472_10153999632199179_212959800_n

And finally, the showstopper.

How beautiful is this hummingbird. I love how you can see the splashes of colour as though it is just dripping. The detail is incredible.

I honestly didnt know that you could temporary tattoos like this!

They are just perfection.

If you dolls are interested in getting some for yourselves, I highly recommend them to anyone for any age!

I mean, im almost 23 and still find them fun to apply with a flannel!

So I hope you beauties have enjoyed this colourful post, and make sure to keep up with my latest below:

Graduation OOTD // Beautyandshe

Uncategorized

IMG_0988

Well hello there my beauties!

So yesterday was my twin sister’s graduation day!

She has finally finished University and achieved and amzing 2:1 degree in BA History!

So of course I couldn’t not show you my OOTD and makeup for this amazing event.

Let me show you….

IMG_0940

As it is summer, I wanted to go for something that would match this beautiful sunny weather.

My dress is from Primark and was an amazing £5…

BARGAIN.

I love the watercolour effect on the flowers and love the contrast in colour of the red and blue.

What I absolutely love about this dress is the back. It has an open back with a ladybird style cape effect which makes the dress look so unique.

I decided that because the dress is so vibrant, I wanted to pair it with some classy yet simple shoes and accessories.

My shoes are also from Primark and my matching clutch is actually my mums that she bought in M&S.

IMG_0945

As for hair and makeup, again, I kept it simple by simply straightening my hair and stuck to natural and neutral makeup.

I lightly created a smokey eye and matched it with a natural rosy lip.

And as for my sister…

IMG_0988

No word can describe how beautiful she looked…

Coral dress, white shoes, natural makeup – stunning.

Are you guys graduating soon? or have a special occasion to go to?

I would love to see!

Quick Grocery Haul

Uncategorized

Good Afternoon beauts,

I went shopping this morning for some weekly necessities and thought it would be great for you guys to see what I buy on a weekly basis.

Im not one for spending huge amounts of money on weekly shops, instead,  just things I need as and when I need them.

Lets get started..

The first thing I picked up was this amazing granola by the oat so good company. I was in need of something to accompany my yoghurt and porridge in the mornings and sometimes, you just need that CRUNCH!

Contain oats, nuts and seeds, it provides a great and easy source of fibre to throw in to my everyday diet – oh and it tastes amazing too!

Natural yoghurt is one of my favourite breakfast or snack foods. As mentioned! I love eating it with granola or fruit and its low in fat and great for the digestive system! I choose a pretty basic brand of natural yoghurt –tastes perfect and does the job!

The holy grail.

I love lemons. I buy them weekly as I use them for so much!

I start my mornings by having a cup of hot water with a slice of lemon which is great for starting my metabolism and also detoxing my body! Through out the day, I love drinking ice cold water with lemon, it’s super refreshing and tastes great!

Fresh carrot sticks and cucumber are some more of my favourite things to munch on so this pack of mixed Greeks dips is perfect to accompany them! The roasted red pepper and feta dip is gorgeous – it really gets me in the summer mood.

Avocados are so beneficial. They contain healthy fats which are great for keeping skin and hair in pristine condition. Also, they can be used to create an amazing face mask – so long as you don’t mind looking like shrek!

Shampoo is not something I  buy weekly, however this coconut shampoo by Garnier is amazing. It smells great and does wonders for my hair, leaving it super soft and silky.

Of course I have to keep up with the latest!

I always get LOOK magazine but I found this bundle for £2.50! So guess what I’m doing this afternoon – yup, relaxing in the sun with my magazines – heaven.

What are your weekly buys?
