Happy Sunday everyone!

I have a well deserved day off today so I thought it would be a good opportunity to catch up with you dolls!

I have been feeling very creative lately and I am SO looking forward to this autumn season.

So last week I shared with you my Halloween Horror Skull Tutorial, which I absolutely loved creating. This week is something a bit easier using some gorgeous colours and….

Glitter.

Yes. Glitter.

I’m pretty sure that every girl has wondered what it would be like to be a mermaid..

I know I have. I just love the beachy hair and bright and beautiful colours!

So this is my take on the Mystical Mermaid look.

For the full tutorial of how I created this magical look, check out the link above!11997159_10154030751589179_239807065_n

Who knew a pair of tights could create such a beautiful pattern right?

11999925_10154030751874179_758768752_n

In a lot of films, the mermaids you see usually have gorgeously glistening flawless skin, so to create this, I added some pink glitter to my cheekbones, brow bone and forehead.

12021979_10154030749884179_1516819988_n

To finish the look, add some eyelashes and give your hair those beachy waves!

This look is super easy to do and quick to create for a last minute idea!

Graduation OOTD // Beautyandshe

Uncategorized

IMG_0988

Well hello there my beauties!

So yesterday was my twin sister’s graduation day!

She has finally finished University and achieved and amzing 2:1 degree in BA History!

So of course I couldn’t not show you my OOTD and makeup for this amazing event.

Let me show you….

IMG_0940

As it is summer, I wanted to go for something that would match this beautiful sunny weather.

My dress is from Primark and was an amazing £5…

BARGAIN.

I love the watercolour effect on the flowers and love the contrast in colour of the red and blue.

What I absolutely love about this dress is the back. It has an open back with a ladybird style cape effect which makes the dress look so unique.

I decided that because the dress is so vibrant, I wanted to pair it with some classy yet simple shoes and accessories.

My shoes are also from Primark and my matching clutch is actually my mums that she bought in M&S.

IMG_0945

As for hair and makeup, again, I kept it simple by simply straightening my hair and stuck to natural and neutral makeup.

I lightly created a smokey eye and matched it with a natural rosy lip.

And as for my sister…

IMG_0988

No word can describe how beautiful she looked…

Coral dress, white shoes, natural makeup – stunning.

Are you guys graduating soon? or have a special occasion to go to?

I would love to see!

Makeup through the decades // 1980’s

Uncategorized

Happy Sunday everyone!

You know what time it is…

Who isn’t in love with the eighties?

Disco pants, crop tops, big hair, bold colours, lycra….

One of my all time favourite films is 13 going on 30, where the fashion at the beginning was a big inspiration..

Fabuloso…

a84d5bcba94dd8fcfd1d1b50219526bd

Alot of makeup in the eighties was bright, bold and beautiful… but hey, Girls just want to have fun right?

You just had to have colourful eyeshadow. That meant wearing blues, purples, and pink eyeshadows…

Bravo to those who wore all three colors on at once…

So lets get started….

IMG_0389

Fab-U-lous right?

So looking a bit like a peacock, this look is all about the eyes and cheeks…

I started of with my Bourjois Foundation and applied concealer under my eyes to create a flawless look..

IMG_0390

I then used a hot pink blush by MAC mixed with some hot pink eyeshadow by Wet n wild…

..alot of Hot Pink!

The blush was over emphasised so I brought the colour right across my cheek bones..

IMG_0387

Again, I chose a lip shade to go alongside my cheeks…

I lined my lips then applied a bright pink Revlon lipstick to match.

IMG_0386

As for the eyes, well….

I started off by priming my eyes with my Benefit primer then applied a shimmery white base.

I placed a bright blue shade in the corners and outer corners of my eyes, then applied a lighter aqua colour in the center of my lid. I blended these colours together then used a fluffy brush to apply a hot pink shade to my crease and inner corner.

IMG_0388

I lined my lower lash line with a metallic blue eye liner and applied my fave Mascara  – Benefit they’re real..

I finished the look by lightly filling in my brows, my eyeshadow and blush need to be the center of attention!

IMG_0385

As for the hair…

Backcomb baby!

The bigger the better!

And the look is complete! What do you all think of my electric eighties look? I had so much fun creating this for you guys.

I think I did Cindy Lauper proud…

Makeup through the decades // 1910 -1920

Uncategorized

Picture this..

Strict up-dos, corsets, tailormade jackets and skirts.

The 1910’s were all about exotic fashion and high class appearances.

You’re probably wondering what i’m talking about..

I absolutely love exploring vintage fashion and makeup trends, it is amazing how much styles can change over a small period of time.

I decided to delve a little deeper this time and start a new series of blog posts inspired by previous makeup ideas over the past 100 years.

After doing some research into the many different styles, I wanted to begin with the 1910’s and 1920’s.

The both of these eras were all about femininity and style – My idea of heaven!

Time machine ready, let’s head back 115 years ago..

1910’s

1910s-makeup4

This look is all about flawless pale and porcelain skin. Having pale skin symbolised wealth and high class whereas women who were tanned were seen as lower class, often found to be working outside for a living.

The simple hairstyle shows elegance and the lightly coloured cheeks look so feminine.

IMG_0086

Thicker eyebrows were also desired (not in today’s society thank goodness) and a just bitten dash of red colour was added to the lips.

IMG_0084

I used a pale concealer and powder foundation to get the porcelain look and over-filled my brows using my maybelline eyebrow pencil. I applied a grey toned eyeshadow to my lids to add a little definition to the eyes. This look is all about looking naturally beautiful, innocent and elegant.

1920’s

1920s-Flapper-Makeup-Bebe-Daniels

Who doesn’t love dancing the Charleston?

I adore the 1920’s. The make-up was so sleek and the hair so perfect.

The 1920’s female figure is so iconic today and it has to be one of my favourite decades.

IMG_0098

As you can see, I have recreated the iconic look and I am in love with how it turned out. Using my Bourjois healthy mix foundation to created a flawless base, I then proceeded to create a defined contour using my MAC blush in Sunkissed on my cheekbones.

IMG_0100

I filled in my brows using my MUA brow gel and applied this gorgeous smokey shade called Blackheart from my Naked 3 palette across my upper lid. Using the same shade, I lined my lower lash line and applied my favourite mascara – Benefit’s They’re Real.

IMG_0101

Finally, to finish off this look, I lined my lips with a bright red lip liner and filled them in. Using my Ted Baker lipstick in a slight darker shade, I created some definition at the bottom of my lips creating a two toned look.

Who doesn’t love a red lip!?

IMG_0102

For my hair, I pinned the sides and created a ringlet using my fingers. I created a faux bob by tucking my hair underneath itself and again, pinning the rest back. I love how simple the hairstyle is compared with the glamorous makeup

It is an incredible look and I believe anyone could off pull this classic style.

I will be recreating the 1930’s and 1940’s tomorrow, continuing with my

Makeup through the decades series!

So which decade was your favourite? I think I know what mine is!

BeautyandShe on a budget : Fashion

Uncategorized

So, everyone loves to look their best but not all of us (including me) have the budget for designer fashion.

So today, I have been looking at affordable high street alternatives that won’t burn a hole in your pocket.

All of these items are perfect for the new Spring season so have a good look dolls!

FotorCreated 2

I’ve seen this T-shirt around a lot lately and I love it! I think it may have been reduced further to £19, bargain! French Connection has always been a favourite of mine and with this bold Tee, you’ll be sharing the love all day long!

http://www.polyvore.com/french_connection_striped_heart-print_tee/thing?id=81107022

FotorCreated

Who doesn’t love Burberry? This scarf is an essential and famous piece that is completely gorgeous… However, I do have a slight issue with paying £335 for one…. I found this equally beautiful and AFFORDABLE scarf at River Island for £15! It comes in a range of other colours and will certainly keep you warm on a sunny windy Spring day. (We get a lot of those in Wales)

FotorCreated3

Shirt dresses are so versatile. They look great for an everyday look and can be dressed up for a night out! I love this bright and bold blue dress from Topshop, add a brown belt and a pair of heels and you’re ready to go! And for £40.. well….. OK then!

FotorCreated4

Festival season is coming up and every girl needs a raincoat.

Who says they can’t be fashionable right? I have found this unique and strangely attractive mac from ASOS. It just makes me happy looking at it! The plus side… no one misses your FAB outfit underneath!

FotorCreated5

Disco anyone?

I knew these would come back into fashion! I had a pair when I was about 12 and I loved them! (cringe).

I’m Not cringing anymore! I actually love the style of these jeans and love how they look with heels! They create such a nice shape for the legs and look so elegant!

Lets forget the afro though?

FotorCreated6

Grease is the word.

Haha, doesn’t it just remind you of Sandra D?

Gingham print is in right now and why not celebrate it by wearing this gorgeous A-line? Missguided’s skirt creates a beautiful waistline and skims your hips landing just on the knee. Pair this with some classic black elegant strappy heels and a white or black crop top.

Summer lovin…

Eyeshadow Application : Wet or Dry

Uncategorized

Good morning beauties!

So this is a topic I have been meaning to discuss for a while…

The effects of wet and dry eyeshadow application.

For anyone who is not quite sure what I mean, applying eyeshadow dry is literally applying the shadow straight from the product to the eyes with a dry brush – easy peasy.

For a wet application, I like to spray my brushes with a little water before applying the eyeshadow to the brush, then apply to the eyes. – Again, easy peasy.

But honestly, the difference between the two applications is AMAZING! – Take a look…

I have used my Barely Exposed City Colour palette that I recieved yesterday! Check out my US beauty swap here!

As you can see, this application looks pretty normal, the colours are very pigmented and the shine on the metallic shades is beautiful! However……….

Look at the difference…

Can you tell? It’s 10 times better!

The colours are so vibrant and strong compared with a dry swatch. It just gives a deeper, more compact colour and I absolutely love this way of applying them. The only issue with this style is that blending can be a bit more time consuming and difficult to master… But when the colours are this good? Who cares?!

Let me know how you guys apply your fave eyeshadows?

Speak to you soon,

Secret Revealed: US beauty swap

Uncategorized

Finally! This is the big news I have been waiting to tell you all!

So a few months ago, I joined up to Pretty Little Beauty Swap run by the gorgeous blogger Chelsee from southernbeautyguide

I have always wanted to do a beauty swap, particularly with someone from the U.S. as I just love the variety and choice of American beauty brands! I had heard so much about beauty swaps and thought it would be great to give it a try!

So once I had signed up to the swap, I was assigned my swap partner Lori!! Now as you know, I live in the UK and was absolutely thrilled when I heard that I would be swapping with someone from Pensylvania

I got to know Lori after emailing each other for just over a month, getting to know her likes and dislikes, styles and colours and favourite beauty products! She is such a sweetheart and it has been a privilage talking to her!

I created my own beauty package for her, along with a couple of gifts for the home etc and sent them off on their long journey to the U.S.

And today, I recieved my gorgeous package from Lori! I can honestly say I was so shocked by the amount of time and effort put in to the gorgeous gift and I am in love with all of the gifts she has sent! Everything was packaged so beautifully and I received a lovely little card as well!

So I bet your all dying to know what is in it…..

I have always wanted to try this primer, Benefit is one of my favourite brands and I cannot wait to see the difference with using such a high end primer!
